7th and final in this series of my experiencing ASEAN destinations, comprising of 10 nations: Brunei, Cambodia, Lao, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam; 
Brunei Darussalam “Abode of Peace”, after a decade, will be taking its turn to host ATF 2020 and will avail the opportunity to display its tourism products. Cultural tourism is the back bone of Brunei tourism attracting family tourists. The Sultanate has a growth potential in underwater adventure and in the recent years, Brunei’s clear waters has been attracting shallow water marine life exploration as well as wreck dive deeper in the sea. Marine life and corals are intact due to lack of commercial fishing, controlled diving activities and caring hands of the dive operating companies committed to safeguard the challenge of damage to coral reefs.

The new riverfront park: Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas is spread over 12ha. and is an added attraction for family travel experience, a great fun for children, comprising children play ground, walkways and other recreational activities.

Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) is currently running digital campaign to boost inbound travel and to attract millennials, beside families and couples to immerse into experiential travel activities. Other than the recent new operation of non-stop flights between London Heathrow to Bandar Seri Begawan and to Haikou (China); RBA resume flights connecting the capital with Kuching (Sarawak, Malaysia).

A variety supply of accommodation is available to meet the demand ranging from 4 and 5 star world brand hotels like the Radisson Blu, Sheraton and the local upscale Empire Hotel & Country Club, Brunei, new hotels already in operation includes the Mulia Hotel and the Capital Residence Suites, adding 145 and 58 guest rooms, respectively.

This year (2019), Bandar Seri Begawan has earned the significance of being the Capital of Islamic Culture in Asia for 2019. The host country for ATF 2020, Brunei Tourism is focused on promoting cultural and Islamic tourism packages under the branding: “Brunei: Adobe of Peace”.
