FEASTivity – Bangkok, Thailand.
Punjabi & South-Indian Vegetarian
At Sukhumvit 11/ 1 (Bangkok), a few minute walk from Nana BTS Sky-train terminal), a visible signpost “Dosa King” had me fixed with a thought:
A feast that could befit a king!
And on the sign – vegetarian hit the right mood as I was really looking for a light and healthy food.
Eating healthy food can be a life changing experience – so never under-estimate the say:
Food is your best medicine.
And here, at Dosa King, the menu is all about vegetable with a certified “halal” label.
The moment I enter, spicy aroma and pleasant atmosphere with a warm welcome by friendly hosts suggested that I am in the right place for a great treat – what you may call it, experiencing a home cooked meal away from home!
From the all-embracing vegetarian menu, with some help from the Chef, I made a few selection.
The specialty of the House is Dosa stuffed with paneer (cottage cheese) served with mint chutney and sambar.
On the second, Chilli Dosa stuffed with capsicum, bell-pepper, cheese, onion, spices served with sambar, mint chutney.
Who said vege meals can be boring – here, the richness in taste in every delightful bite give a feel of like being served at the king’s dining court.
And not to miss on dessert: the traditional Pista kulfi with banana-mango-melon and a smooth finish with Tamarind juice and Mint with lemon drink.
You can actually enjoy a different platter every other day.
And while some of the award winning restaurants like
Rang Mahal (Indian) at the Rembrandt Hotel – loosing the grip on quality, warmth and hospitality with change in management – why not change your preferences and enjoy quality and delicious food at places such as this one – highly recommended after having tried and tasted, first hand.
Must return to try more like the Thali (combo platter of specialties of the House).
