FEASTivity – Bangkok, Thailand.
QUAINT BRASSERIE – BAR, LIVE MUSIC
A hidden gem for gourmands in one of Bangkok’s foodie’s district of Sukhumvit – I come across this vintage place when I got aware of the Asia Destination Film Awards and my curiosity of checking out this restaurant as the venue to hold the significant travel event.
And so I am bound for Ekamai BTS (sky Train terminal) on Sukhumvit line. From here, Sukhumvit Soi (street) 16 is just a stone throw and the restaurant is about 5 minute walk in the street.
Immediately on entering the restaurant, its rousing mien described its art-heritage character with a rustic appeal inside this ancestral house, serving foodies since 5 years.
I meet the creative chef and I perceive his enthusiasm in serving gourmands with something unique and I see some fusion dishes on the menu with a listing of Thai and western cuisines.
I humbly agreed on Chef’s recommendation – some of the favourites, which included tangy Avocado salad with prawns for starters.Avocado is loaded with fibre, potassium and heart-healthy fatty acid.
Tom Yam (salmon) is a real taste bud teaser with all the healthy Thai herbs and spices less oil – a must try.
On the main course, I try lamb loin with mustard, Dijon sauce and served with grilled mixed vegetable.
Although I avoid meat, occasional bites in small portion, when on a diet, can be a good source of protein, as long as there is no oil and excess salt.
Later, I look into the irresistible dessert menu. While panna cotta with raspberry (Vanlla vream) is the best seller, I can I say no to Banoffee chocolate ice cream.
To splash it all down, I opted for “Little Mint Sunshine” (a healthy mix of ginger, lemon and apple juice sprinkled with cinnamon), sipping it over listening to live music.
After a refreshing drink, the coffee master khun Lao insisted that I should try Latte coffee prepared with fresh bean coffee with a spray of coconut juice.
After a pause, listening to good live music, I finished off with this very special coffee, served with passion and with a curiosity of k.Lao, how I rate his creation. That was certainly a 5-star coffee and I would like to return – another time.
Quaint Brassiere was the venue for the 2nd Asia Destination Film Forum and Awards (30th of January, 2020). This stimulating event offered a captivating insight into how visual storytelling has an impact on travel destinations and on the whole, influences the tourism industry. The Event was participated by prominent industry leaders in film, tourism, storytelling, and sustainability establishments.

I have been to Thailand, and enjoyed my year there. The people were pleasant, and very humble. Thanks for sharing this article.
