Ibis Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 – A budget hotel with a 5-star appeal

In a recent ceremony at the prestigious TTG Travel Awards during the IT&CMA APAC, Bangkok 2022, Ibis is crowned the Best Budget Hotel. I had the occasion to experience the Ibis Bangkok Sukhumvit24 that lived up the reputation of the award win.

The exit of Phrom Phong BTS terminal which connects Emporium and EmQuartier shopping malls, the hotel is across the road in Soi 24 Sukhumvit, just a couple of minute walk. The small reception area efficiently allocated me room on the 19th floor. Upper floors in the same building is the Mercure – a synergy of the two brands of Accor Hotels in one building.

The hotel location with the sky train station a stone throw away makes it a favorite budget accommodation for participants to the events at the BITECH (Bangna), QSNCC and BCC convention centers in Bangkok, all conveniently connected with the BTS.

My small room but designed to a comfortable stay is equipped with tea-coffee making facility, large screen TV, working table with chairs a wardrobe.

Other than the convenient location, The Market Restaurant is the highlight of the hotel. With the day light emit through large windows, contemporary designed venue is the place to recharge before making a start to an active day. A surprisingly rich selection of food on the buffet breakfast comprises a healthy variety of breakfast assortment along with succulent Thai and continental dishes, salad section, cheese variety, juices and beverage. Hot ginger soup was a unique health drink not found on buffet tables elsewhere.
While the GM will look into your needs to a perfect experience, conscientious concierge is helpful to secure your left luggage on check out until you return from your short holidays. www.facebook.com/ibisBangkokSukhumvit24/

Ibis is my favourite chain in Europe, I am rarely disappointed as the monitoring of the hotels seems quite rigorous.

If this is a budget hotel, I see why it won the award. It looks like some of the more expensive hotels in Bangkok.
