DESTINATION ASEAN – PHILIPPINES

The 3rd in the series of my travels in the ASEAN Region, the Philippines slogan “Its More Fun in the Philippines” live up to its reputation of being a destination of friendly people.
With its many islands getaway in a string of 7,100 islands, the country offers great beach vacations at places like Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Leyte-Samar and cultural tourism at Manila, Mindanao and Davao.

Reopening of Boracay after a shut down for clean-up operation, the Philippines has set an example for other destinations over-run by tourism, to an effective action plan observing Responsible Tourism and Destination Sustainability. Palawan is the next destination to be temporary shut down for tourists for maintenance and diverging tourists to destinations offering wellness and community-based tourism.

Philippines Tourism Promotion Board also updated on its newly-opened airports, i.e. Bohol-Panglao International Airport, Mactan Cebu International Airport and Cagayan North International Airport. Philippines Air Lines (PAL) announced 4 times weekly direct flights Manila – Ha Noi from 01 April, 2019. Okura Prestige Hotel is among the new 3 world brand hotels to open in 2019. Some 60 exhibiting companies were at the TRAVEX ATF, including Seda Hotels.

  1. I grew up in the country, and I wouldn’t exactly agree with that slogan. But yes, there are plenty of places to visit in the Philippines if you search for it. On the side note: You forgot to mention Palawan. Haha just bias because it’s my favorite island.
